Or maybe a lox party

I though
t the pox party mentioned in M. T. Anderson's The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing book was scary. But that was before I heard about botox parties.

Next spring, you should come to my backyard and look at the flox. They're quite pretty.

[That's right, Yat Yee. Stay silent for weeks, then come back with a fluff post.]

I promise that
substantive posts will be forthcoming, right after I get out of the enchanting and at times overwhelming forest filled with intriguing plants, blinding colors, and promising paths that is my life right now.

The YA novel is being revamped, the kids are at home, things are still being unpacked from three back-to-back trips, and thoughts provoked by recent TKD events are swirling around, attempting to become coherent.

But then it's summer. What did I expect, really?

I would go to a lox party!

(I WAS creeped out my Octavian Nothing's adventures a bit...however, I did just buy another copy to give to a a friend's college aged son who just broke his ankle. He's a history buff who likes warped things. Seemed like the perfect book for him!)

Warped things: that's great. We should have a lox party, enjoying the flox, trying not to get too flummoxed.

I have been fighting summer sloth as well. It is pernicious!

You know, Laoch, I don't think it's summer sloth. It's more like possibilities-from-relaxed-routines and optimism-from-additional-sunlight-hours kind of mindset. For me, at least. And too much watermelon.

Ha. Blogging is getting harder and harder. For the life of me, I can't come up with anything to post about these days! :)

Corey: I have that problem for sure. I also have the problem of having a topic in mind and either getting too involved in the subject and can't pare down, or I can't organize my thoughts. Or maybe it's all the same thing.

I haven't read Octavian, but I know people who have had chicken pox parties so that their kids can get over the virus without a vaccination. What people won't do to avoid a shot!
