Poetry Friday

Here is From Blossoms by by Li-Young Lee:

This is how it begins:

From blossoms comes
this brown paper bag of peaches
we bought from the boy
at the bend in the road where we turned toward
signs painted Peaches.

Hi, Yat-Yee! Thanks for sharing the start of this lovely poem. I have reviewed Bill Martin Jr's Big Book of Poetry and Linda Sue Park's Tap Dancing on the Roof for Poetry Friday this week.

Vive la language,

That is just such a lovely poem, Yat-Yee - the falling over into a kind of ecstasy at the end. And the lines "to eat /not only the skin, but the shade, / not only the sugar, but the days...."

Thanks for posting the link.
