It's Megan Rebekah's fault

She wrote about what to wear when she gets a publishing deal, which got me thinking about what to wear for those special publishing moments:

For an evening affair, An LBD with these shoes:

For day time events, these babies with a chocolate brown and pink outfit:

They're both from Anthropologie, for those of you who like such things as cute shoes and slightly funky outfits that don't really go that much on sale.

SO CUTE. Especially great because they both are low-heeled shoes, and I'm a big fan of being able to run in whatever I'm wearing, and kick people in the shins, as well as look awesome.

Fuse#8 used to write about what she wore to these types of gigs and came under a lot of criticism for being a NY librarian who was a publisher "groupie" or whatever, but I'm glad someone can still talk about what fun it is to be invited to these things, and not be shouted down by jealous people.

This cracked me up! Nothing better than to be scrolling down my blog reader and seeing that something is my fault. I was thrilled to see it was something fun (I'd hate to be blamed for the ruin of a manuscript or something equally horrifying!)

I can't wait until we actually get to use our publishing outfits :)

I can't wear my Gap jeans and clogs? Shoot.

Tanita: criteria for shoes: comfy, cute, and can do damage when used to kick shins. Ha!

Actually I was being very presumptuous and envisioning my own publishing events. *blush* You know according to those see-it-claim-it gurus? Okay, I don't buy it, just making excuses to look at shoes.

Not that many big publishing parties here in the Rockies although this coming week, I'll be celebrating at Laura Resau's book launch party. No pretty shoes with flowers for me. Most likely some sensible boots. Current temp: below freezing.

MeganRebekah: I thought you would get a kick out of it! No, would never blame you in public for anything that is not fun!

Melissa: Of course you should wear your Gap jeans and clogs!
