My tribute to Salinger

Just checked out Frank Portman's King Dork, in which The Catcher In The Rye plays a huge role in the plot, from what I understand.

King Dork sounds like a riot! Of course I read Catcher in the Rye in high school...don't remember much of it. I seem to recall being frustrated by the main character. I suppose if I read it now I'd have a whole different perspective on it.

Catcher wasn't required reading in High School where I grew up (Malaysia) and so I read it only about 15 years ago. I don't remember what I thought about it, primarily because I wasn't a serious writer at that point.

I sat in on a panel with the agent, editor and author of King Dork at SCBWI-LA. Interesting path to publication to say the least!
